DFG Forschergruppe FOR 1497
Research Group Twin Polymerization

Central Project

Functional Areas:

In the central project (ZP), the activities of the DFG FOR 1497 will be coordinated and organized within the FOR and the participating teams: seminars, meetings for the project leaders; as well as cooperation with academics outside of the FOR: talks, workshops, colloquia.
Further the ZP supports the analytic works of the groups “Semiconductor Physics” (analytic methods: spectroscopical Ellipsometry, Raman- and Photoemission spectroscopy) and the group “Solid Surfaces Analysis” (analytic methods: Electron Microscopy).

Previous Activities:

Within the first funding period the DFG FOR 1497 organized successfully: workshops, colloquia, symposia, talks and seminars.
The previous works with Raman spectroscopy and Ellipsometry did show, that this method is not only suitable for analytic of already produced specimens. It is also suitable for in situ-monitory of elementary processes of the twin polymerization.

Ongoing Work in the Second Funding Period:

The area of the DFG FOR 1497 will be enlarged and more opened to integrate Ph.D. students of other faculties and MERGE. The FOR should be a meeting point of interdisciplinary exchange for young academics.
It is planned to build a solid basis for scientific share on overarching scientific questions. The methodical and basic aspects of structurally different twin monomers and the types of the twin polymerization must be proved with scientifically classified and confirmed with additional theoretical and experimental studies
